Sleepy Agius
2023 Moto2 European Champion
Senna Agius finished the weekend in Aragon with the European Moto2 title with a sensational double victory.
With the triumph of the 18-year-old LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP Junior Team cyclist, they repeated the success of 2022, when the title was won by Lukas Tulovic.

After a disastrous end to the series’ final stop almost three months ago in Barcelona, Moto2 rider Senna Agius had another chance this weekend at Spain’s MotorLand Aragón circuit to prove her skills and make an early decision on the European Championship title.

During the practice sessions, Agius left no doubt about his ambitions and set strong lap times in qualifying, which secured him pole position.
Senna won the first race of the weekend with an advantage of over 16 seconds, and then repeated this result in the final fight.

With four pole positions, Agius has started from pole position in every race he has entered this season, and has scored seven wins along the way.

“I am very happy and at the same time a little proud of this success. Winning the second race after the first was the perfect way to end the weekend. Apart from that, I’m happy that I won the title. In the first race everything went according to plan. I immediately found my rhythm and pulled away. I managed to maintain the pace from the previous days and then I had everything under control. On the other hand, the second race was not easy. Alberto (Surra) was very strong in some parts of the track. I tried to overtake him, but each time I was a little on the limit. It took me a few tries before I finally managed to overtake him. I want to thank the entire LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP team for everything. They gave me the perfect package for the entire season. This year’s entire structure has enabled me to achieve these successes. I also thank my coaches, my family and everyone else who was involved.”
