ICC considers Dharamshala pitch ‘average’ but England-Bangladesh match worth playing

The verdict on the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) stadium pitch came after an inspection on Sunday by ICC’s independent pitch consultant Andy Atkinson. “The process of assessing the condition of the pitch and outfield is the responsibility of match officials as part of the ICC Pitch and Field Monitoring Process and the pitch in Dharamshala was rated as ‘average’ after the Afghanistan-Bangladesh match. Additionally, ICC’s independent pitch consultant inspected today’s pitch and is satisfied with the prevailing conditions, as is Javagal Srinath, the match referee for the next match,” an ICC spokesperson said.
